Conceptualized by Eadweard Muybridge in 1879, the zoopraxiscope was built in 1880 to project Muybridge’s chronophotographic pictures in motion (hence, motion pictures). Muybridge’s “The Horse in Motion” is credited with being the first movie ever made.
